Do you have the experience we are looking for?

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic veterinary colleague to join our team.

Dealing mainly with our clients in London and in the South and South-West of the United Kingdom, you will join our team of veterinary surgeons in fulfilling the duties of the Named Veterinary Surgeon under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act (1986). You will work closely with technical staff and research personnel and provide advice to our clients on the health and welfare of research animals.

You will also work with our training development team to deliver high quality training to licence applicants and technical staff working under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act (1986).

You must have:

A strong commitment to improving animal welfare and a good understanding of the procedures involved in biomedical research. You will be working with a variety of clients and must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be a proactive highly motivated self-starter with the willingness to work independently or as part of a team, with the capacity to be flexible and work out of hours where required.

Membership of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and at least 2 years’ experience in clinical veterinary practice and previous experience as a Named Veterinary Surgeon (NVS) or Designated Veterinarian (DV) or with research animals is desirable. Experience of delivering training is also preferred. Own transport essential.
